Diesel “Alp Village.” “Magic 55,” + “Le look le plus cool” [01:00]# A campy series of spots for Desel jeans in which the jens
themselves are never mantoned. The commercials appear to be advertising completely different products. In “Alp Village”, this appears to be milk, and all this in a setting peopled by characters which bring to mind the fact that in German “alp” referss to the mountains but also means “nightmare”.
“Magic 55” is a parody of Japanese soap powder sommercials, and “Le looke le plus cool”, which comes across like an ethnic musical number, takes us to Africa and seems to be lauding the merits of “Stardust” hairspray which transfors normal listless hairdos into “the up-up cut”.
