Duckworth, Finn, Grubb & Waters [00:35]# This self-promotion commercial for the agency Duckworth, Finn, Grubb & Watters takes a sideswipe at the merger mania rampant among British advertising agencies. A door bearing the ominous legend Megacom Advertising swings open and we see a man sitting behind his desk, smiling blandly. He turns out to be a robot and his motor has to be started before he can embark on a long-winded speech on the benefits on having an agency with worldwide connections. Mercifully, this is sabotaged by engine failure, and even several attempts at restarting him fail. VO: “There’s a new agency in the advertising business that will put more emphasis on advertising than on the business. So cll Duckworth, Finn, Grubb & Water’s and welcome back to advertising.”
