Sardines Parmentier I, II & III [00:10]# Three spots from a campaign featuring the ongoing spokesman for Sardines Parmentier – a grizzled old codger in fisherman’s smock and cap. He always speaks form his customary dinner table chair, and on his left sits or stands his long suffering wife who always deflates her husband’s pompous pronouncements with some caustic remark. In the first commercial she counters her husband’s “Tradition means never changing your habits!” with “Well, we won’t get bored this winter.” In the second one the man tells us “I’ve known Sardines Parmentier since before I met my wife.” “Yes, but it was me he married,” his wife adds dryly. In the third spot he, as usual holds up the tine to the camera and exclaims, “This is tradition speaking.” The wife, unwrapping a loaf of bread form a dish towel comments, “A bit loudly, all the same.” All spots end with a pack shot and th title: “We’re putting tradition in cans.”
