Boots “Christmas” (01:10) #
For its Christmas commercial, cosmetics
chain Boots hired the services of internationally acclaimed photographer David
LaChapelle, who, in his typically “overthe top” style, has given a quite particular spin to the production. Intended for
an adult audience only, the spot – set to
the song “Epoca” by Gotan Project –
shows women performing a variety of
tasks around Christmas time, presenting
them most advantageously: garbed in
evening wear and glamorously styled,
they make even more mundane chores –
peeling Brussels sprouts – more enjoyable by treating themselves to a relaxing
bath. The tagline above a magnificently
decorated house provides clarification:
“Tis the season to be Gorgeous. Trust
Boots.”
