A black banner covering almost the entire browser, and a cursor that has morphed into a blind person’s cane: this online campaign
by the name of “Web Blackout” for NGO White Cane helps us to better appreciate how the world is perceived by the blind and
poorly sighted. A link takes users from the banner straight to the organization’s website.
Nir Refuah: “A cool initiative from Serbia. In order to raise awareness and donations for more guide-dogs training,
the agencies hooked up with the leading websites in Serbia and created the web blackout: Whoever tried to enter
those sites got a black screen with a cane, showing how difficult is to navigate without eyesight.”
