Mirrors Of Racism

W3haus, São Paulo

[1.17.002]

More Info

A Brazilian social campaign targeting discrimination against Afro-Americans and seeking to give a face to racist views. Racist posts on social media – together with a photo of the person making these comments – were printed for all to see on billboards, causing the number of such hate messages to rapidly decline.

Karpat Polat: “Strong campaign from Brazil. The main point is clearly to bring ‘virtual’ racism out into the real world. People who post racist tweets suddenly see them on billboards near their homes.”
