More Info
This platform was launched through the partnership between Congresso em Foco, one of Brazil’s most influential political journals, and FCB, São Paulo, which monitored more than 170,000 political bots during the election season. That is interesting because, according to a study by FGV/DAPP, about 20 per cent of all political discussions on social networks in Brazil are instigated by – surprise, surprise – bots. Trending Botics allows users to track and compare all political issues – most
especially the country’s recent presidential election – by analyzing the number of messages tweeted by bots and those sent by real users. “How much might our vote have been artificially influenced?” asks the campaign.
Björn Ståhl: “Finally, a way of getting on top of the election information flow. I wish the US had had it before the 2016 election. It’s sad but the world needs this idea. Yet the case video needs some work.”
