How you got into advertising...

Completely by accident.

A run-down of the most recent campaign I worked on...

I just shot a campaign for Sperry, shooting on a sailboat and living on the ocean for almost a month, it was amazing.

The best piece of creative work around at the moment is...

Last time I really had my expectations truly blown away was when I saw Mad Max: Fury Road. It was like if Matthew Barney directed an action movie that was also a beautiful fashion campaign.

The next big advertising trend is going to be...

I think it will eventually shift back to big ideas. I think people are getting burnt out on the disposability of social media campaigns and the endless stream of digital fodder. People want to see big awesome inspiring things that will stand the test of time.

The piece of advertising work I wish I had thought of is...

I love the Samsung Surf: We are Greater Than I commercial that came out this past summer. It is so epic.

My favourite digital tool/app at the moment...

The Sun Seeker app is every natural light photographer's best friend.

In a film about my life, I’d like to be played by...

Larry David.

A word or phrase I overuse ...

"Wicked" as an adverb, can't shake those Boston roots.

My last social media update said...

"You only live once. So make sure you spend 15 hours on the Internet every day, desperately seeking the validation of strangers." via repost.

My dream collaboration is...

I want to keep directing more projects, I would love to collaborate with Emmanuel Lubezki. He is such a brilliant cinematographer.

A piece of criticism I’ve received was...

All my friends say I drive my car like a grandfather. Which is true, I'm a terribly slow driver.

A great piece of advice I received...

"Don't be bitter, be better."
