51 Sprints

Random Studio, Amsterdam

[6.16.002]

More Info

A website dedicated to the history of Olympic track events,
considering the sport from the traditional (political) perspective of
the nation state before going on to break it down in terms of factors
such as business, race, sex, class, amateurism and professionalism,
etc. – and enabling visitors to overcome these divisions by
using the “Equaliser” function to create their own custom races.

Gideon Amichay: “I used to be a sprinter as a child. Since then, the
Olympics (track and field competitions in particular) have been a time of
celebration for me. Generally speaking, I hate big data. But when I saw
how this smart site offers such a different take on data visualization,
I immediately fell in love. I can now create my own race and rewrite
Olympic history! What a great combination of data and gaming. Definitely
a Gold Medal.”
