American Express “Wes Anderson” (02:00) #
Another cool addition to the American
Express “My life. My card.” campaign. This
time around, the star of the commercial is
American director Wes Anderson, who is
known for his odd and decidedly leftfield
sense of humour on view in films such as
“The Royal Tenenbaums.” This funny commercial seemingly “makes itself” as he
leads us through the set of what appears
to be his latest production, which involves
explosions, geishas, French châteaux,
Indian terrorists, and what else not. Once
he’s finished with his tour of the set,
acting – amongst other things – as production designer, dialogue coach, and
cameraman along the way, the commercial ends on the pay-off: “My life is about
telling stories. My card is American Express.”
