Times are becoming tougher for smokers,
with more and more people objecting
to the nuisance and pollution their
habit causes. Yet what made the smoker
start smoking, and what prevents him
from quitting? This question is investigated
by the American Legacy Foundation
in this striking spot which uses a
huge arrow to “point” to the problem of
the respective teenager. The most diverse
of labels – such as “Non-Thinking”
or “Problems with self-esteem” etc. –
highlight the ploys used by the tobacco
industry to get young people to smoke,
says the VO at the end of this spot.
