“Pony Express” + “Seeches” [00:30]# Two commercial for the Ameritech Telecommunications company. In the first, we see a young man on horseback storming across the prairie. He arrives in a town to find the office of the Pony Express locked up, a telegraph office having opened across the street. VO:”The Pony Express lasted just two days after the first telegraph reached the West Coast. Technology can change the way we communicate overnight. Count on us to be ready for it.”The second spot shows original footage of famous speeches or events in the histoy of the 20th century -e.g. a speech by F.D. Roosevelt, the moon landing – yet the audience is made to disappear so in the end only the speaker is there addressing the void. VO: “Imagine if some of history´s important message sent there is a message received.” Claim: “Amertech. Your link to better communication..”
