Astronaut Reality Helmet

McCann, New York

[5.18.002]

More Info

This project was created to give viewers the chance to see Earth through the eyes of an astronaut. To promote a new series, “One Strange Rock,” produced by Darren Aronofsky and Nutopia, 25 “Astronaut Reality Helmets” were made to offer an even better watching experience than VR, allowing the viewer to see exactly what astronauts would themselves see in space with their helmet on.

Rafael Segri & Kiko Mattoso: “This is a different take on VR ideas, very simple, and yet very cool in the sense that it gave the lucky ones who were able to use the helmet the experience of understanding what it feels like to be in space without actually being there. So a very fun way to launch their TV series. Hopefully, they will make the helmet available in more places so we can stop needing to save up money for one of those space flights.”
