Barclays “Pride” & “Solitude” [01:00]# Two spots for Barclays Bank that are typical of a new trend in financial advertising in Britain. Gone are smiling bank clerks and dubious promises. Instead, we see a mixture of moody, extremely stylized images of people engaged in various professional activities in black and whit e and color and the titles, “Business would be a pleasure if it weren’t for the financial hassle. It already is for some.” And “It can be a lonely business running a business. I t needn’t be. ” Both spots with the bank’s claim, “You’re better off talking to Barclays.”
