More Info
We all know that texting behind the wheel can be very dangerous – and
that we should never do it. In addition to that, however, this website
shows how many meters of road drivers miss while typing text messages.
Type in the message you would send and it shows you exactly
how many meters you have lost. Example: One character at 90km/h
makes a loss of 19.75 meters. So sending a message like “On my
way” contains 7 characters and makes you drive blind for 236 meters.
Pay-off: “Don’t text and die.”
Darre van Dijk: “Blind Meters is a website on which you can measure
the meters you miss while texting and driving. You can test it on the
streets of your own country. It would have been even better if it had used
Google Streetview but, apart from that, this is a great simple interactive
website that gets you thinking.”
