Carling Black Label “Squirrel” & “Dambusters” [01:00]#
Nature footage of a very clever squirrel indeed. Camera follows as it climbs a twelve-foot yellow pole, crosses a clothesline, jumps the gap between two platforms, etc. It scurries, clambers and leaps until it finally reaches a cache of nuts on a small ledge up on a mast. Cut to two owls watching. Says one, “I bet he drinks Carling Black Label.”
“Dambusters” presents a parody of the classic World War II story. An RAF Wellington Bomber makes an approach over a strategic Norwegian reservoir. The German sentry on the ramparts of the dam drops his sandwich and scurries down a ladder to bravely block the first bouncing bomb. Five bombs are dropped on the next run over the dark water. But the sentry now has his greatcoat off and makes five acrobatic soccer saves. Cut to bomber cockpit. “I bet he drinks Carling Black Label,” declares the squadron leader.
