Ever wanted to haunt your own food? Now you can, and you don’t even have to leave your house in order to do so. Burger King and Red Dead Redemption made it possible for the game’s players in Sweden – and all 135 restaurants are participating, so the “self-hunted” free burger is kind of possible for players everywhere. And this is how it works: find four ingredients in-game – cow, pig, cheese, bread – and scan the icons on the promotional website. This will spit out a coupon that can be redeemed at any Burger King the player chooses to go to. Players are, however, advised to keep away from hunting domestic animals if they don’t want to get a negative Honor Rating.
Björn Ståhl: “The gaming community has been a black hole to advertising, separated from the rest of us, and notoriously hard to reach. This campaign came out less than a week after Red Dead Redemption 2 was launched – proving that the game could actually feed you also in the real world.”
