I took a 40 story header onto Fifth Avenue! What a mess! That was 1959 and I had just gotten the boot as CEO. I might have kept my job if there had been a third business newspaper to tell me what the Times and the Journal couldn´t! But we didn´t have Crain´s in New York back then, so I got the ax with no golden parachute. My advice? Get Crain´s. It couldn´t hurt. At least not as bad as a 40 story freefall.
