Delacre “Le Rap” [00:37]# & “Weather Men” [00:30]# The master patissiers of Delacre, shown while preparing their famous biscuits to rather dainty Strauss music, are compared to a rap group. “Maybe you wish these guys made rap,” an a la mode super filling one half of the screen proposes, while the other half shows Delacres cooks fiddling with the biscuits. Then cut to the rap group sputtering out their lyrics, and the super now goes, “But aren’t you glad these guys don’t make biscuits?” Claim: Delacre. Great biscuits. Lousy music. The second spot in the series starts off with a super (as well as a VO) announcing, “The weather was brought to you by the master patisiers of Delacre.” Snippets from news programs of awful weather are juxtaposed with the chefs and their cookies. VO/super: “Unfortunately, the master patissiers of Delacre know another about the weather – just biscuits, possibly the best biscuits in the world. Which might explain why the biscuits in Europe are rather better than the weather. Delacre. Great biscuits. I’m sorry about he weather.”
