Doctors Without Borders

Duval Guillaume, Brussels

[2.06.041]

More Info

This Belgian commercial on the subject
of Aids once again relies – as in the
AIDES spot “Woman” (Lürzer’s TV
Archive Vol. 3-2005) – on animation
techniques. The commercial for Médecins
sans Frontières (“Doctors Without
Borders”) shows an African village in
which a man suddenly collapses while
walking down a dusty road. To the accompaniment
of the wailing of a mother,
he rolls down the hill, dragging men,
women and children – everyone, in fact,
that gets in his way – along with him. A
human avalanche is produced, burying
entire tracts of land beneath it.
