More Info

The Royal Australian Mint has unveiled a new coin that is designed to be donated with the help of Saatchi & Saatchi Melbourne. Three million coins have been released and there are many more to come, with the intention that Australians donate it to charity. The pandemic has taken its toll on charities, due to the reduction in use of paper money. Therefore it’s even more important to motivate people continue to donate.

Tiffany Rolfe: “A great platform and artifact created from the insight that we’ve been fast to adopt online and digital payment methods – ever more so since the pandemic. But most don’t think about how the shift away from coins and paper money has had unforeseen and significant consequences on Australian charities, many of which rely on coin donations, as do the most disadvantaged members of our society.”
