Levenson started out as a copywriter at Doyle Dane Bernbach in 1959, penning campaigns for clients such as Volkswagen, Sara Lee, and Mobil. He subsequently spent more than 25 years at DDB and was the
agency’s creative director from 1970 to 1985.
