Ground Zero, Los Angeles

[1.06.134]

More Info

Beautiful classical music on the soundtrack – in fact a piece of the Nocturne in C sharp minor by Chopin – and the image we see is, quite incongruously, a piece of potato being fried in a pan. Except that the potato is turning round and round, gliding across the oil-covered surface of the pan in perfect harmony with the music. A title then reminds us of “The Isu World Figure Skating Championships,” which are broadcast “only on ESPN.” The second spot follows a similar pattern, only this time it’s a dead leaf and a scrap of paper turning and swirling around each other remarkably harmoniously to the strains of Tchaikovsky’s “Romeo And Juliet.”
