Etisalat Nigeria “Closed”
In this moving film running to eight minutes, we witness the amazing transformation of a Nigerian illiterate – one of 65 million in the country – who successfully overcomes shame, embarrassment, and self-doubt to learn how to read and write, enabling him to understand what, for him, were previously indecipherable symbols that surrounded him everywhere he went. The film was made for the Etisalat Prize for Literature, a special award presented to African authors.
