More Info

What many people don’t seem to know is that our poop is a really rich source of medical information; it reveals a lot about our health and what is going on in our bodies, especially in our gut. And a healthy gut is crucial for a healthy body. A microbial health company – Seed – and an AI company – Auggi – aim to solve the mystery of our poop by creating a database that will use AI to recognise the difference between healthy and unhealthy deposits and help change the future of gut health. They are asking people to literally “give a shit for science” and send pictures of their slops with some info about their pooping cycle. The goal: an open-source database tool for academic researchers.

Masashi Kawamura: “A nice mix of humor and science. A simple and clever way to involve people with a good cause.”
