More Info
Over the past 15 years, we’ve seen
dozens of commercials in which football
could be seen being played on airports,
battleships, city streets, etc. – just about
anywhere, in other words, but on a football
field. In this 2006 World Cup spot
from Heineken, the game kicks off (and
ends) on the football field but, in between,
the ball gets kicked all over the
place, in city streets (over various continents,
it seems), a penthouse, a TV
studio, and, finally, back into a stadium,
which immediately fills with players and
masses of football fans. Thanks to the
nifty direction and some nice details, this
spot manages to transcend what has
basically become a rather tired ad cliché.
