Heinz Homestyle Gravy “Mouthful” and “Marbles” [00:30]# A couple at a table. The man is ferociously gorging himself on food covered with Heinz gravy. VO says Heinz is still trying to make gravy like homemade.
Man attempts to comment, but his mouth is full. Title tells us his actual words: “It’s great.” His wife interprets, “He says ‘nice try.” VO describes succulent ingredients involved. Man gargles: “Wow!” Wife’s interpretation: “There’s still work to be done.” VO describes cooking progress. Man: “No lumps.” Wife: “He says it’s close.” Man laughs at camera as if to say “Yeah, right.”
In “Marbles,” the man sits on his porch eating gravy-covered food. VO says Heinz is just like homemade. Man replies to camera, “Ain’t like my wife’s.” VO protest: “But we use real beef and beef juices.” The man says Heinz doesn’t have lumps like his wife’s gravy. “The kids used to save them to play marbles in the cellar.” He laughs uproariously. “Heinz Home style Gravy – so close to homemade.”
