The consequences sex tourism has for its
victims are demonstrated by this commercial using everyday scenes. The protagonist, an Eastern European ex-prostitute, is seeking to integrate herself into
UK society yet only manages to utter
sexist formulations from her former business, such as the question “You fuck me
good?” instead of “Is this the way to the
station?” Another prostitute (stunningly
portrayed by Emma Thompson) talks to
the camera while engaging in the act of
sex, describing the consequences of trafficking in women and girls. As “Elena,”
she once led a respectable life, yet now
she has become the socially isolated,
emotionally disturbed “Maria.” Super:
“Trafficking is torture.”
