Hertz “Balloon” [01:00]# A balloon bearing the claim of Hertz’s competitor Avis, “We try harder,” fills the screen. A VO tells us that Avis keep talking about trying harder because there’s nothing else they can talk about. They have fewer outlets than Hertz, offer fewer cars but charge the same as hertz, offer fewer cars but charge the same as hertz, the number one car rental firm at the time. All the while these facts are being listed, air is slowly let out of the balloon until it’s just a shrunken ungainly little piece of rubber.
