The commercials for the French Hollywood brand of chewing gum, which continue to feature lifestyle advertising at its purest, have always been an interesting indication of the teenage target group’s general attitude to life. While ten years ago the spots usually showed young people engaging in outdoor activities such as hiking and skiing, the latest spot is more fantastic and at the same time conveys a much more urban and yet darker and downbeat atmosphere. The young protagonists in this film party all night in a condemned high-rise which is to be blown up in the morning. They continue to stay there to have the pressure of the blast catapult them into the skies from where they float down on parachutes. Claim: “Hollywood Chewing Gum. The freshness of life.”
