More Info

IDFA: “Casting” [00:60]# Real life is often wilder than any imagination. That is proved by these spots for IDFA, the International Documentary Festival Amsterdam. In the first, a casting director tries to get children to utter fervent religious incantations. In the second, two men are discussing a script that appears to be absolutely surreal, while in the third the actors are going through the screenplay together – in no less weird a fashion. Accompanying each of the scenes acted out is an excerpt from one of the festival pieces in which the events just shown are seen occurring in reality. Pay-off: “You can’t make up reality.”
