German IKEA commercial. The parents
feel melancholy, the mother, in particular,
finding it hard to come to terms
with the sight of the furniture van slowly
disappearing, carrying her son off with
it. It’s not so much her son, however,
that she hates to see leave, as we learn
while her husband tries to console her
with the words: “We can buy new furniture.”
