In this back-to-school spot for JCPenney,
one of the leading US department store
groups, a girl is seen chasing a heart to
the strains of the title song from the movie
“Love Story,” with the heart ultimately
leading her to a boy. We first encounter
the little girl at school, where she is doodling in her exercise book, drawing a heart
with her initials and those of another
person. Suddenly, the heart disappears,
pops up in another corner of the book,
draws itself in chalk on the blackboard
and crops up on the locker door, on a
classmate’s sweater and, finally, on the
table in the dining room. Super: “Today’s
the day to get up the nerve. JC Penney.
Every day matters.”
