In the little English pub “The Level
Head,” centuries-old traditions are very
much respected. All the more shocking
the reaction on the face of the patrons,
therefore, when one of the pub regulars
is spotted strutting through the door in
a toupée. As he is stared at by all and
sundry, the owner is quick to react.
Already busy vacuuming up the “rubbish”
of the rest of the patrons, he
points the hose to suck up the despicable
hairpiece. Pay-off of this commercial
for John Smith’s beer: “No rubbish
rugs. No nonsense.”
