“When a felon’s not engaged in his employment, or maturing his felonious little plans, his capacity for innocent enjoyment is just as great as any honest man’s” is how Gilbert & Sullivan put it in one of their popular ditties from “The Pirates of Penzance.” Unless you’re a strict vegan, you wouldn’t, of course, call a butcher a felon, yet the innocent enjoyment displayed by one butcher sitting on a park bench having a KitKat amidst cute little birds and bunnies who all (to the strains of “Close to You”) flock to him unsuspectingly bears just as little relation to his regular “employment,” to which he returns after his break. Pay-off: “Have a Break. Have a KitKat.”
