“Airbag” + “Wind Tunnel” #
Surely the most unusual demonstration of the benefits an airbag has to offer. Nighttime: An exhausted driver narrowly misses a crash with a truck. He drives off the highway and then decides that he really needs some sleep. He takes aim at a wooden post, accelerates and crashes into it – not just once but three times. The third time the impacted the crash is strong enough for the Mazda’s airbag to inflate. Once this has been achieved, the driver rests his weary head on the cushion like contraption and drifts off into a restoring slumber. VO: “An airbag can save lives.” “Wind Tunnel” is a cinematically superb commercial highlighting the fact that the inside of the Mazda “is the quietest place on earth.” The spot features Buddhist monks who choose the interior of a Mazda standing in a wind tunnel as the place for their meditation.
