McWhopper

Young & Rubicam (Y&R), Auckland

[1.16.002]

More Info

A “peace proposal” put forward by Burger King to mark Peace Day. The spoof idea submitted to arch-enemy McDonald’s was to consider producing a burger creation by the name of McWhopper (half Big Mac, half Whopper) to be sold for one day only in one single location.

Roy Cohen: “What if we could merge two of the biggest brands together for one day of peace?” It’s a very ambitious thought. Burger King showed a lot of bravery by taking the campaign very seriously.”
