This anti-crime spot for the Metropolitan
Police focusing on knifings and stabbings
introduces us to the computer game
“Knife City”: a young guy is strolling
through the streets of London when, on
turning into a side street, he comes
across a gang. A knife is immediately
pulled from a pocket. Yet the typical
videogame symbol for “energy” abruptly
disappears – as does the former game
mode – when one of the two falls to the
ground with a serious knife wound. For
this young lad, reality comes to an end
in prison. Tagline: “Carrying a knife. It’s
not a game.”
