MTV “Rocket”(01:30) #
An environmental commercial sponsored
by MTV: Two young men in dubiouslooking suits proclaim that they are about
to fly off to the moon in a homemade
rocket. So they climb into the missile,
which looks like a vertical cartridge case
with engines and a shark’s mouth painted
onto it. Once in the cockpit, the two
squabble over who is to be pilot, causing
the rocket to fall over. In the process, the
engines ignite, and thus begins a rapid
but rocky flight through the countryside,
past two jet planes, through the big city,
and finally coming to an end with a crash
landing in the middle of nowhere next to
an MTV Switch logo. Super: “Moving to
another Planet is not an option.”
