Nike “The Great Chase” This is Nike’s first ever Chinese New Year ad, and it tackles the “hongbao” tradition. Red envelopes filled with money are given to children by elder family members for good luck. Here we see a young girl trying to refuse the gift out of custom. She fails horribly each time, until she is a grown woman and swaps roles with her aunt. Now it’s her turn to hand over an envelope but her aunt is prepared. Running away from gifts is surely easier in new kicks.
