In Italy most soccer teams have a symbolic creature with a talismanic function. For Juventus Turin it is the zebra, AC Milan hs the devil, for Rome it is, of course the wolf, while Cagliari has four blind men, Lazio the eagle, Torino the bull, and Inter-Milan, which is sponsored by Nike, has the snake. This is the basis for the Nike poster campaign in which the various symbolic figures – painted in the style of Caravaggio – are seen running from the powerful snake.
