Right on cue for the European launch, Sony is airing its campaign “This is living”
by director Dante Ariola. Shot in Mexico,
the commercial tells of a pair of gangsters
we first see as they are about to check in-
to a hotel. Cut to one of the hotel rooms,
in which a chambermaid with a vacuum
cleaner sends a grenade rolling across the
floor as a lapdog proudly shows its master what it is capable of, causing the grenade to fall through the gutter and land
next to the suitcases of the new arrivals,
where it finally explodes. The fascination
of the money showering down on them
prompts one of the guests to declare:
“This is living.”
