Prostate Cancer Research Foundation “Bob Monkhouse” (00:45) #
This spot approaches the subject of
prostate cancer with typically British black
humour. In the pleasantly leafy cemetery,
we run into Bob Monkhouse, a British
entertainer who died a few years back yet
who is, thanks to computer technology,
still able to speak to us. Strolling over to
his headstone, he tells us that he would
actually have preferred to die in his sleep
the way his father did. Yet what killed him,
he continues, kills one man per hour in
Britain – and that, he adds, is “even more
than my wife’s cooking.”
