M&C Saatchi Abel, Cape Town

[2.18.002]

More Info

South African restaurant chain Nando’s is campaigning to have Mzansian names recognized by spellcheck dictionaries – and no longer marked with a squiggly red line under them as misspellings. Visitors are invited to add their name to the list.

Lulo Calio: “A small idea, but with a huge contribution to a country’s identity. Today, all that we find on the internet, or in the apps we use frequently, tends to transform into big truths. Without a spellchecker that marks the word as a mistake, we tend to think it is that way without questioning a lot, but when the error is your own name it can have a deeper meaning. Good work on the part of M&C Saatchi and Nando’s for helping to fixing it.”
