Saga Falabella “Fears” (01:25) #
To the strains of a violin piece clearly
inspired Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons,” a beautifully
filmed series of shots depicting
women in daunting situations (such as
getting ready to pose nude for an art
class, seeing a rival edging up close to
their own object of affection, finding
themselves face-to-face with a wolf.) The
camera shows their evasions by closeups
of their feet stepping back. At some
point, however, the women are shown
again as they take heart, step forward
and become active in changing the predicament
they found themselves in.
