There are Brazilian studies proving that a sudden spike in domestic violence occurs when soccer matches are being televised.
To counter this trend, an additional indicator board was placed next to the usual electronic scoreboard inside the stadium, this second board keeping a record of the number of times women were the victims of violence during a game.
This awareness campaign successfully helped to lower the incidence of domestic violence during soccer matches.
