Shave To Remember

Ogilvy & Mather, Johannesburg

[3.19.002]

More Info

South Africans do not seem to be completely aware of the legacy of Nelson Mandela and of how each of the country’s citizens can find the Madiba within themselves. In order to help them do so, and remind themselves physically of Mandela’s legacy, there is now a chance for them to shave the iconic Madiba line onto their head. The date of the “Shaving day” has also already been set for June 30th, with the event to take place in Mary Fitzgerald Square in Johannesburg.

Björn Ståhl: “One of my favorite ideas this year. How can a big multinational brand even think of using an icon as big as Nelson Mandela and get away with it? Well, by using kid gloves and a very clever idea. A big brand and wonderfully relevant and impactful way to sell shavers. Bravo!”
