People are finally starting to care more about where their food comes
from. As there have been many food scandals in Europe over the past
few years, one of France’s leading supermarkets, Auchan, wanted to
give their customers the reassurance of knowing where their food is
really coming from and how it was produced. Auchan’s quality label
uses Google Street View technology for people to really see the origin
of the food they are buying.
Paco Conde: “Another great idea from a French supermarket (remember
Unglorious Fruits and the Black Supermarket?). This time it’s a simple
and innovative way for Auchan to let its customers know the exact origin
of the food they want to buy. Simply by including the coordinates of the
farms that produced each products.”
