The Recording Academy: 2% Choir This campaign for The Recording Academy aims to change the fact that less than 2% of all popular music is produced by women. We see a fifty-woman-strong choir performing a choral arrangement of Alicia Keys’ “Underdog“ right after it was released. We see them one by one, sitting down in silence until in the end only the 2% – only one woman – remains. It sends a strong message to point out the gender gap existing in the music industry.
