Ogilvy creatives, Ogilvy Health, Glue Society and The Beautiful and Useful Studio, created a giant and growing melanoma on Tamarama beach as part of this year’s Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi. The project was co-funded by Bristol Myers Squibb and La Roche-Posay. Called ‘The Spot’, the incredible sculpture changed and grew as it was exposed to more sun and the exhibition progressed, starting at five metres and continuing to grow until around 20-metres wide.
It was not only a powerful art installation but an important message about skin sun safety. ‘The Spot’s’ message was further reinforced with on-site free skin checks courtesy of not-for-profit Skin Check Champions, teamed with skin safety education and sampling through a partnership with La Roche-Posay.
